Lineform

The ideal tool for vector based diagrams and illustrations

Easy and affordable vector drawing!

Fast, lean and Universal, Lineform offers powerful features in an uncluttered interface that's designed to help you get work done!

Winner of a 2006 Apple Design Award, Lineform is the ideal Mac app for vector-based diagrams and illustrations. Useful features combine with a simple interface to create a wonderfully intuitive artistic process. Lineform has all of the most popular tools, including everything from freeform gradients to compositing effects, enabling you to create the designs you want without getting in your way with "features" you don't need.

Features:

Freeflow Text
Fit text inside any odd shape. Lineform does not constrain you to special text objects, but lets you put text inside any shape. Text is then flowed through the shape to create the designs you want.

Arrows
Not only can you attach arrows to anything. Everyone does that. But Lineform lets you morph the arrows creating beautiful ends to your lines. Morphed arrows look much more natural and give an extra professional touch to any diagram.

LinkBack
With LinkBack a user can paste content from any LinkBack-enabled application into another and reopen that content later for editing with just a double-click. Changes will automatically appear in the original document again when you save. This allows programs like Omni's OmniGraffle and Keynote(+plugin) to share pictures diagrams and data simply and easily.

Bézier Editing
Complete freedom to edit any shape or curves. Lineform provides powerful Bézier curve editing abilities, that allow you to create, tweak and alter shapes to the way you want them.

Bezier Pen
The Bezier pen is an extremely powerful tool for any sort of digital illustraion. Lineform also allows automatic smoothing and conversion to bézier paths to make the brush tool ideal for freehand sketches and drawings. With this, you can use artistic stroke and tweak the paths to create natural drawings.

Gradients
Unlike some awkward interfaces for gradients, Lineform provides excellent interactive tools. You can interactivly set gradient stops from the palettes including transparency. And from the document you can drag and alter the gradients in interactive real time.

CMYK Preview
Printers and screens use different methods of creating colour. Screens use an additive combination of red, green and blue (RGB). Printers mostly use a subtractive combination of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK). Because of the difference in how colours are created it is possible to show colours on screen that cannot usually be printed. This is especially disappointing if you have spent a long time getting the colours right on the screen. To avoid this problem Lineform provides a CMYK preview. This provides a much clearer idea of how the drawing will appear when printed out.

Artistic Strokes
Make a boring diagram or a quick sketch come alive with artistic strokes. Just like any other line artistic strokes remain completely editable and can be applied to any object. Combined with freehand bezier drawing artistic brushes can make brilliant use of any tablet.

Free Transform
Simply rotate, shear, scale, and move any object where it is. No more bad rotation controls, easily click and drag to change the shape. Positioning and shaping objects is a snap.

Outline
For both text and arbitrary curves Lineform is able to convert them into outlines. This allows you to easily create shapes like the walls of a house or to edit the outline further using Boolean operations or editing the shapes to easily create the shape you want.

Boolean Operations
Lineform allows you to create complex shapes easily through powerful operations that allow you to add and subtract shapes together. These are called Boolean operations and allow you to create new shapes using the Union, Intersect, Subtract and XOR of other shapes. These allow complex and detailed shapes to be built quickly and easily.

Cocoa
Cocoa is an object-oriented application environment designed specifically for developing Mac OS X-only native applications.
